Pilbara, free of flood, fire and cyclone!

Here are some images from a place in Australia that seems like the only spot not being ravaged by natural disaster! Floods here in South Queensland, floods in Victoria, cyclones up north, fires in Perth… I hope these images might cheer up some in stormy, wet and windy places! Taken recently on a quick trip to Karijini National Park in the Pilbara.

Hancock Gorge Karijini!

I was lucky to have a few days to kill after an industrial photoshoot near Karratha, so I headed to Karijini National Park. It’s surprisingly close, if you take the rail access road! Arriving at Karijini became slightly overwhelming though, having to choose from one of the many amazing gorges there is to see. Where to start! Joffre, Weano, Knox, Hammersley, Dales, Kalamina… and all the rest!

The image below is from one of the most spectacular – Hancock Gorge. Hope you enjoy the image, comments and thoughts are appreciated. For anyone planning to get to Karijini’s Hancock Gorge – I would recommend climbing out BEFORE the sun goes down!

A quick trip to The Pilbara

I’m back in the office this week after a quick trip to WA’s Pilbara. A sensational week photographing industrial projects, a million acre station, a spot of heli mustering and the stunning Karijini National Park. More images coming soon!
