After coming down from the FREEZING alpine country, it was great to soak up some sun around Omeo. It’s a neat little town covered in Autumn colour, a bit like Bright but more rural. Victoria is great, you really don’t have to go far for a great landscape photo (unlike parts of Qld!).
Here are some new images from 2 days last week having a look around the Bogong High Plains. These were shot on the 5D2+24-70, with Pano head stitched in Photoshop. I hope you enjoy these images, please drop me a comment let me know what you think!
This is Wallace’s Hut, a short walk off the main road. A cattlemen’s hut built in 1889, it’s a magnificent sight surrounded by gnarly eucalypt trees. I was setting up for this pano on sunrise when these brumbies walked right into the shot! Love how the horses add to the high country theme of the shot – Man from Snowy River style! Intense shadows made the shot difficult.
The view from Falls Creek, of mountains covered in burnt trees from 2003 fires.
View of the ski slopes, without snow! The lake for off in the distance in Rocky Vally Storage, used for water supply of AGL Hydro Power Stations further down stream.
