Working on the Sky

With cloudy flat skies, comes the need to think outside the square! Stuck with a week of shooting under think cloud cover in western Queensland, I started experimenting with the automatic exsposure bracketing, then blending manually in Photoshop. A few samples here- 28 facebookers voted the top image, 12 preferred bottom!

  2. They are both quite nice. If I am meant to choose, I prefer the top one, nice treatment. If you have a 10 stop ND filter you can also create some great effects on clouds on an overcast day.

I am a fan of getting down low but in the top image I’d prefer to get a bit high, hehe. It would not be easy but standing on top of the fence could look great, with the leading line below you.

  4. I like the top one the best but I think the light is actually nicer in the second one. If the building was a little off centre I think it would make an awesome image.
